Get ready for a high-octane revenge flick with a vintage flair. The trailer for the Canadian film, Death Cycle, has arrived, showcasing a style that blends the aesthetics of Italian giallo films with the grindhouse energy of Quentin Tarantino’s Death Proof.
Death Cycle follows a woman whose life is turned upside down after her sister is killed. She is approached by a man investigating a series of murders committed by a motorcycle-riding maniac. However, as their fear escalates and the killer’s rampage continues, they begin to question who the real monster is.
The film stars Kristen Kaster, Sasha Ormond, Matthew Ninaber (Psycho Goreman), and Justin Bott. It is directed by Gabriel Carrer (For the Sake of Vicious) from a script by Dave McLeod. The film is a product of Latefox Pictures, High Rise Studio, and Chrono Visor Images.
The film is set to have its world premiere at FrightFest on August 24, followed by a screening at the Sitges Film Festival. After its festival run, Death Cycle will be released in the U.S. and the Philippines in 2026 by Uncork’d Entertainment, and in Canada by Black Fawn Distribution. Get ready for bloody, brutal action.
“With our festival run about to commence, the Death Cycle team is ecstatic to have our world premiere at the legendary FrightFest UK. It’s been a dream of ours from the moment Dave McLeod wrote the script,” said Carrer. “Given the film’s deep Giallo roots, and my personal connection to Italian cinema through my family, it felt only right to debut the film in Europe.”
“Gabriel Carrer has crafted a sharp, uncompromising thriller with Death Cycle, a film that masterfully blends giallo style with modern slasher brutality,” adds Uncork’d Entertainment President Keith Leopard.
