The highly anticipated sequel, Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, has just dropped a brand-new trailer. In it, we get a terrifying glimpse of the animatronics escaping the pizzeria and causing havoc in town.

A Nightmare Escapes

The trailer begins with a group of urban explorers entering the now-abandoned original Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. The animatronics—Freddy Fazbear, Bonnie the Rabbit, Foxy the Pirate, and Chica the Chicken—have escaped. And they are now roaming the town, leaving a path of death and destruction in their wake.

The original cast is back to face the new nightmare. Josh Hutcherson returns as Mike, who once again finds himself in the middle of the chaos. Elizabeth Lail returns as Vanessa, and Piper Rubio reprises her role as Abby, who still believes she can reconnect with her “friends,” the animatronics. Mike must now protect his sister from the very creatures she feels a connection to, while they terrorize the town.

A “Scream” Reunion

Adding an exciting layer for horror fans, the sequel reportedly will include a Scream reunion! Matthew Lillard, who reprises his role as William Afton, is joined by his Scream co-star Skeet Ulrich.

Behind the Scenes

Filmmaker Emma Tammi returns to direct, with Jason Blum and game creator Scott Cawthon producing. The first Five Nights at Freddy’s film, based on Cawthon’s popular game series, was a massive box-office success, and this sequel promises to raise the stakes and the scares.

For those who want to catch up, the first film is now available to stream on Peacock. Five Nights at Freddy’s is set to premiere exclusively in theaters on December 5, 2025.
