The upcoming Norwegian monster movie, Kraken, is set to bring the legendary sea creature to the big screen. Two teaser trailers give you a taste of the monster mayhem to come.
Directed by Pål Øie (The Tunnel), Kraken follows a marine biologist who, while researching a fjord, encounters a series of strange occurrences and the brutal deaths of two local teenagers. Her investigation leads her to a terrifying discovery: at the bottom of Norway’s deepest fjord, a mythical monster as large as a mountain with a myriad of crushing arms lies in wait.
The film stars Sara Khorami, Mikkel Bratt Silset, Ingvild Holthe Bygdnes, Steinar Klouman Hallert, and Jenny Evensen. The screenplay was written by Vilde Eide. Samuel Goldwyn Films has acquired the US distribution rights.
The film is set to open in Norwegian theaters on October 24, 2025. Hopefully, a US release will come soon.
