Get ready, action fans! The hero of the 2023 action-thriller Sisu, Jorma Tommila,  is returning to the big screen, and he’s not messing around. The sequel, now officially titled Sisu: Road to Revenge, is on its way with a much bigger budget and two new legendary action stars. And we’ve got the first image that the director has shared. It features Tommila driving a truck with a windshield full of bullet holes.

The original film, which we called “f*cking fantastic” in our review, was a surprise hit. It follows the story of a one-person army of a miner named Aatami Korpi. He brutally takes on a group of Nazis to reclaim his gold. It was a critical smash, earning an impressive 94% on Rotten Tomatoes, and it made a solid $14.3 million worldwide, proving that audiences love a good old-fashioned action-revenge flick.

A Bigger Budget and an All-Star Cast

The upcoming sequel, written and directed by Jalmari Helander (interview), has a reported budget of $12.2 million—nearly double the first film! This time, our hero (Tommila) is getting some company. The cast now includes English-language action heavyweights Richard Brake (Barbarian) and Stephen Lang (Avatar: The Way of Water), which promises even more mayhem and intensity.

The Road to Revenge is Coming This November

Sony has officially announced that Sisu: Road to Revenge will be released in theaters on November 21, 2025. The sequel sees Aatami return home only to find that his family has been murdered. Now, he’s hunted by the Red Army commander who killed them. It’s described as a “wall-to-wall cinematic action event” packed with “clever, unbelievable action set pieces.”

The sequel is arriving just in time for Thanksgiving. It will be positioned as some hardcore counter-programming to the musical Wicked: For Good. So, if you’re looking for a break from show tunes and want to see some jaw-dropping, over-the-top action, you know where to go.
