Earlier today, we reported that the hit MGM+ series “The Institute,” based on Stephen King’s novel, has been officially renewed for its second season. Getting renewed was part of the topic of my interview with the cast.
“The Institute” follows the story of teen genius Luke Ellis (played by Joe Freeman). A young man who is kidnapped. He wakes up in a mysterious facility called The Institute. It’s a place filled with children who all arrived the same way he did. And they all also possess unusual abilities, which the Institute uses for nefarious purposes.
Meanwhile, haunted former police officer Tim Jamieson (played by Ben Barnes) has come looking to start a new life. However, peace won’t last for long. His story and Luke’s are destined to collide following a terrifying series of events.
I recently sat down with three of the series’ stars, Joe Freeman, who stars as Luke, Simone Miller, who plays Kalisha, and Fionn Laird (Nicky). Watch as the cast discusses the series, their characters, and what they hope to see in the second season.
If you haven’t seen the first season, I urge you to. It’s dark and twisted, everything we’ve come to expect from Stephen King. Watch it now on MGM+.
