Take a deep dive into one of America’s most infamous serial killers. Netflix has officially released three new posters and announced the premiere date for “Monster: The Ed Gein Story.” The third installment in Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan’s crime anthology series is set to premiere this fall. The highly anticipated season stars Charlie Hunnam in a truly transformative role as the titular killer.

A New Kind of Monster

The series will take viewers to the frozen fields of 1950s Wisconsin. A seemingly friendly, mild-mannered recluse named Ed Gein lives quietly on a decaying farm. Driven by isolation, psychosis, and a disturbing obsession with his mother, Gein’s grotesque crimes went far beyond murder. He was also a grave robber. He used human remains to create macabre household items, including lampshades, bowls, and even a body suit.

Gein’s shocking legacy redefined the American nightmare, and his story became the blueprint for some of modern horror’s most iconic villains, including Norman Bates in Psycho, Leatherface in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, and Buffalo Bill in The Silence of the Lambs.

An Impressive Cast Will Bring the Horror to Life

Charlie Hunnam, known for his incredible role as “Jax” Teller in “Sons of Anarchy,” is almost unrecognizable in his eerie portrayal of the 1950s-era Gein.

The cast is packed with talent, including Laurie Metcalf as Gein’s mother, Augusta, a figure who undoubtedly shaped his disturbed mind. The series also features Tom Hollander as legendary director Alfred Hitchcock and Olivia Williams as Hitchcock’s wife, Alma.

A Must See

With its talented cast and Ryan Murphy’s signature twisted storytelling, “Monster: The Ed Gein Story” is set to be a must-watch for fans of true crime and psychological thrillers.

The series is created and executive-produced by Brennan and Murphy. Brennan also serves as the writer, and Hunnam as an executive producer.

Delve into the mind and life of one of America’s most infamous killers. Monster: The Ed Gein Story” premieres on Netflix on October 3, 2025.

Don’t worry, this will not be the series’ last season. The fourth season is already in development and will focus on Lizzie Borden, with Ella Beatty set to play the role of Lizzie.
