The Conjuring franchise may be coming to an end as The Conjuring: Last Rites continues killing it at the box office, but another long-running paranormal franchise is returning to give fans chills, Insidious 6.
Of course, an Insidious sequel wouldn’t be the same without Lin Shaye. It’s a good thing she’s returning, and she will be joined by Amelia Eve (“The Haunting of Bly Manor”).
Deadline reports that Jacob Chase (Come Play) will direct Insidious 6, which he wrote with David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick (The Conjuring 2).
The franchise was created by none other than James Wan and debuted back in 2011. To date, 2023’s Insidious: The Red Door is the highest-grossing installment, and you can stream it now on Hulu and Netflix.
A spin-off, Thread: An Insidious Tale, is also in the works. It will star Mand Moore and Kumail Nanjiani.
So, when can you expect to witness the next sequel? Insidious 6 will take you back into “The Further” on August 21, 2026.
