Lou Ferrigno, best known as the Incredible Hulk from the 1977-1982 series, is now set to play a new chilling role as a cannibalistic pig farmer in the upcoming horror flick The Hermit.
Malina Weissman joins Ferrigno from “A Series of Unfortunate Events” and Anthony Turpel from Bloody Bridget.
The Hermit follows the two teenage characters who get dragged on a vacation to the woods. After they wander off the trail during a walk, they stumble onto a farm. Soon, they must fight for their lives against Ferrigno’s unstoppable pig farmer.
The film marks the first English-language feature from Italian director Salvatore Sclafani, who also produced the film alongside Gerry Pass.
The movie sounds like it may have taken some inspiration from the real-life serial killer Robert Pickton. Pickton was a pig farmer known for his parties, feeding his victims to his pigs, and was rumored to be involved with cannibalism.
Uncork’d President Keith Leopard says the movie is a “fierce, crowd-pleasing ride” and that “Lou Ferrigno is a force in full creature mode.”
For those of you unfamiliar with Lou Ferrigno, let me fill you in. Ferrigno, a former bodybuilder, took home the title of Mr. Universe twice and stands at six feet five inches tall. He reached over 300 lbs during competitions. In other words, the actor is massive. Besides “Incredible Hulk,” he’s also appeared in The Avengers and “The Apprentice.” Although the actor is now in his 70s, he still maintains an imposing presence.
