The wait is finally over! Back in 2015, the heavy metal horror movie Deathgasm left headbangers and horror fans alike happy. While a sequel was announced in 2016, it’s been silent since, until now! The sequel to the cult horror-comedy is officially on its way! And get this, the trailer and poster for Deathgasm II: Goremageddon have just dropped, and it’s promising to be louder, bloodier, and more unhinged than ever before.
Deathgasm II was successfully crowdfunded, a testament to the passionate fanbase that has been demanding this sequel. Director Jason Lei Howden and his team ensured that the movie gives fans exactly what they want.
Deathgasm II: Goremageddon will feature a skull-shattering soundtrack with tracks from legendary bands like Anvil, Sanguisugabogg, GWAR, and more. The original score was composed by none other than Matthew Kiichi Heafy from the Grammy-nominated band Trivium.
The story picks up with our favorite misfit, Brodie, who is broke and stuck in a small-town nightmare. When a battle-of-the-bands competition comes to town, he sees a shot at redemption—but there’s one small problem: his band is dead. Using the pages of the Black Hymn, Brodie brings his bandmates back from the grave. And unleashes a fresh wave of gore and apocalyptic chaos.
Original cast members Milo Cawthorne and Kimberley Crossman are back, along with some new characters. It’s a pure, unapologetic party movie made for misfits, outcasts, and headbangers everywhere. We can’t wait to see the mayhem!
Raven Banner’s Andrew Thomas Hunt promises the film “cranks the amps to eleven” and is “built for chaos in a packed theatre.” Director Jason Lei Howden agrees, calling it a “face-melting splatterfest” and a “brutal ‘HORNS UP’ to that family” of heavy metal and horror fans.
The film is going to kick off its festival tour with its World Premiere on September 21 at Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas. Next, it’s making its European World Premiere at Sitges in Spain, before hitting Monster Fest in Australia on October 11. But get this, Deathgasm 2 will have the audience at Terror-Fi Fest banging their heads on Halloween!
