Just yesterday, we shared the first images from Jack Black and Paul Rudd’s upcoming Anaconda movie. Today, the trailer has slithered onto screens, and you can watch it below. But, you should know, this isn’t a straight-up horror flick; it’s a meta-comedy about two guys trying to remake the original. So, buckle up for a wild ride.

The movie’s plot is a hilarious twist on the classic monster movie. We follow best friends Doug and Griff, whose lifelong dream is to remake their favorite film, the 1997 masterpiece Anaconda. Everything seems to be going according to their comically chaotic plan until a real, giant anaconda shows up. Suddenly, the movie they’re dying to make might just get them killed for real.

The new trailer sees Black show up on Rudd’s doorstep, demanding they do it, reboot Anaconda. With a loan $9,000, the two, along with their friends, set out to film it. However, chaos quickly ensues as they come face-to-face with a giant anaconda.

Helmed by Tom Gormican (The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent), the film features a fantastic cast, including Thandiwe NewtonSteve ZahnSelton MelloIone Skye, and Daniela Melchior.

This new installment is part of a long-running franchise that started with the 1997 original, starring Jennifer Lopez and Ice Cube. That film was a huge success, spawning three sequels and even a hilarious crossover with the Lake Placid franchise in 2015. Watch the original now on Prime Video or Netflix

Get ready for some holiday terror when Anaconda slithers into theaters on December 25, 2025.
