Magnolia Pictures’ genre arm, Magnet Releasing, is set to deliver one final jolt of terror for the year: faux-documentary horror movie, Man Finds Tape.
The film marks the feature debut of co-writers and co-directors Paul Gandersman and Peter Hall. It blends found footage tropes with a complex, small-town mystery.
Starring Kelsey Pribilski, William Magnuson, John Gholson, Brian Villalobos, and Nell Kessler, the film follows documentarian Lynn Page (Pribilski). She returns to her small Texas hometown after receiving a cryptic call. She begins to investigate haunting footage of events no one can remember taking place. However, Lynn’s search for truth is complicated by her brother’s history with a viral web series called Man Find Tape. This forces Lynn to question if he and the town can be trusted. The arrival of a mysterious stranger with chaotic intentions then forces Lynn to confront her family’s involvement with the deadly monster preying on Larkin, TX.
Rustic Films’ David Lawson Jr produced the film.. Joining him are Aaron Moorhead and Justin Benson (The Endless). They are joined by producer Ashley Landavazo and executive producers Jessica Cargill, C. Robert Cargill, and XYZ Films.
Following Man Finds Tape’s premiere earlier this year at the Tribeca Film Festival, it will be released on VOD platforms on December 5, 2025, according to Rue Morgue.
