The chilling new psychological horror film, Don’t Answer, is set to make its worldwide streaming debut this October, exclusively on Apple TV, from Indican Pictures.
This unsettling thriller marks the latest directorial work of seven-time Emmy Award winner and Cannes People’s Choice recipient, Mark S. Allen (Apparition).
Following a well-received theatrical premiere at The Culver Theater, critics and viewers have praised Don’t Answer for its bold fusion of suspense, satire, and potent social commentary. The film, with its chilling premise, masterfully invites viewers to question the true nature of the stranger behind the next knock at the door.
Don’t Answer dives into the harrowing journey of Jack. He is a deeply disturbed man who is released from a psychiatric facility due to a clerical error. Determined to forge a new life, he takes a job as a small-town delivery driver. However, each stop on his route sets off a chain of tense encounters that quickly push him—and everyone he meets—toward unthinkable, fatal consequences.
The film was shot on location in San Francisco and through an extensive takeover of the real, forgotten small town of Nicolaus, California, lending the movie a stark, authentic atmosphere of small-town paranoia.
Don’t Answer is the eighth feature film collaboration between director/writer Mark S. Allen and producer/writer Howard Burd (Mother’s Day, 616 Wilford Lane), a seasoned partnership that ensures a sharp, genre-savvy approach to the material.
Jack Amsler (A Shattered Mind) and Annabel Storm (Blood Rush) star. Rounding out the supporting cast are Katie Klein (616 Wilford Lane), Joan Robbins, and Adrienne Bankert (Amy’s F**K It List).
The chilling new film Don’t Answer premieres exclusively on Apple TV on Tuesday, October 28.
