BAFTA Award-nominated writer-director Virginia Gilbert (Hesitation, A Long Way From Home) wrote and directed the film, crafting a gripping story about a family consumed by sorrow and suspicion.
The film plunges viewers into the agonizing limbo of grief shared by John (Jared Harris) and Mary (Juliet Stevenson). The couple has lived with the haunting disappearance of their 14-year-old daughter, Clare, for an unbearable ten years.
Their decade of silent suffering shatters when Clare (Erin Doherty) suddenly returns, now twenty-four. Mary is overjoyed and convinced her prayers have finally been answered. However, John harbors a deep, chilling suspicion. He studies the stranger in his home. As tensions of their fractured marriage resurface, an intense, gripping search for the truth unfolds. This forces the couple to choose between faith in a miracle and the terrifying fear of deception.
