Forget sleigh bells and cozy fires. Mike Caron is gifting horror fans with a brutal holiday home-invasion film, Invader. This chilling new movie has already secured a strong cast, led by Amy Acker (Cabin in the Woods).
Invader centers on a scenario no family wants to face: a seemingly happy holiday reunion quickly devolves into terror. Diane’s (Acker) family Christmas gathering turns into a desperate battle for life when they become the targets of her vengeful ex-husband. Having recently been released from prison, the ex-husband is out to destroy everyone Diane holds dear.
Acker is joined by a talented ensemble ready to face the holiday horror. That includes Todd Stashwick (The Air I Breathe), horror icon Doug Jones (Hocus Pocus, Pan’s Labyrinth), and Kareem Grimes (Jarhead). Tommy Walker penned the screenplay for this pressure-cooker thriller.
The project is already generating significant buzz ahead of the American Film Market (AFM). Anthony Buckner, Head of Sales, Acquisitions, and Distribution at AMP, expressed enthusiasm about bringing the film to international buyers.
“We are very excited to be partnering with Mike and the team to bring Invader to AFM,” Buckner stated. “This is a home invasion tale with a festive twist, and a film we feel will resonate strongly with international buyers in Los Angeles as we head towards the holiday season!”
Director Mike Caron shared his vision, emphasizing the film’s intense emotional core alongside the scares:
“Invader is a holiday pressure cooker of fear, family, and revenge – every frame builds toward the moment when you realize that no one is safe, resulting in a movie that will terrify and entertain audiences worldwide.”
With this cast and premise, Invader is positioning itself to be the must-see holiday horror event of the season.
