The cast for the upcoming creature feature horror film, Bad Ass Bear, has officially expanded! Actress and influencer Avaryana Rose (Spirit Springs) has signed on, joining genre veterans Jeremy London (Mallrats) and Duane Whitaker (Pulp Fiction). Furthermore, the film marks the feature acting debut of Jeremy London’s son, Lyrik London, in a key starring role.
Filming has just wrapped in the Jacksonville, Florida area, and production is already gearing up for promotion, with producer Jeff Miller confirming a trailer reveal targeted for the American Film Market in mid-November.
The premise of Bad Ass Bear promises a truly chaotic blend of human and monstrous menace. The plot kicks off when a group of young adults ventures out for a seemingly relaxing camping trip in the Florida wilderness. A terrifying encounter with a group of vicious rednecks first shatters their peace. However, after surviving the human element, they must then face an even more primal threat: a killer bear emerging from the woods.
The film is helmed by writer-director Joe Black (Natasha Hall, Hatchet Sisters). It is brought to the screen through a collaborative effort between Millman Productions, Babe Entertainment, and Ron Lee Productions.
In addition to the new additions, the cast features Cat Black (Suffrage), Lucy Parker, Jeremiah Sumpter, Zach Boltz, Mike Messier, Doug Henderson, and Martini Bay.
The production side boasts Jeff Miller (Popeye the Slayer Man) as a producer, alongside Joe and Cat Black. Miller also serves as an Executive Producer, joined by Rob Adkirson, Brandon Gibbs, and Ronnie D. Lee.
Producer Jeff Miller was quick to praise the new talent joining the fray. He noted that Avaryana Rose “does an amazing job in this emotionally and physically challenging role.” Miller also expressed pride in the younger London, stating that Lyrik “is making his father proud and showing he has the right pedigree in his stunning debut.”
It’s worth noting that Avaryana Rose is also the founder of Babes Against Bullying, a nonprofit dedicated to raising awareness about cyberbullying.
