Breaking Glass Pictures has just announced the upcoming VOD release of RUFUS, a bold and provocative horror anthology from acclaimed filmmaker Mars Roberge (Scumbag, The Little House That Could).
RUFUS has been building significant momentum on the festival circuit, earning high praise for its unique vision, including Best Horror Film at the 34th Los Angeles Independent Filmmakers Showcase (IFS), and winning Best Horror Film at the L.A. Punk Film Festival. It also took home the Best Supernatural Feature award at The New York Science Fiction and Horror Film Festival.
At the center of this genre-bending blend of horror, mystery, and fantasy is the titular character, Rufus. He is a man who tells five alarming stories to his family and friends despite his wife’s objections. These chilling tales explore the dark side of human obsession and community, covering everything from a mortician to the dark future of adoption.
The film showcases Roberge’s singular vision and darkly humorous social commentary, exploring the sinister depths of storytelling.
Roberge directs a striking ensemble cast, including Freeway Ricky Ross, David J, Debra Haden, Rah Digga, Jim Sclavunos, and Spookey Ruben. The film was written by Erez Majerantz and Mars Roberge, and produced by Kenneth Shaw.
Rich Wolff, CEO of Breaking Glass Pictures, expressed excitement about championing the film:
“We are thrilled to bring RUFUS to audiences worldwide. Mars Roberge has crafted a bold, provocative, and unforgettable anthology that pushes the boundaries of horror and social commentary. The film’s mix of visionary storytelling, genre-bending style, and a daring ensemble cast makes it a perfect fit for Breaking Glass Pictures.”
Roberge, in turn, praised the distribution partnership: “CEO Richard Wolff got my film from the start and shares a lot of my aesthetics—two east coasters from punk music backgrounds. I did my homework and… that sealed the deal.”
RUFUS is set to terrify audiences on digital platforms beginning November 25, 2025.
