Star Wars and The Young Woman and the Sea star Daisy Ridley is set to lead the cast of the upcoming action-thriller, The Good Samaritan, directed by Pierre Morel, known for the explosive action hits Taken and Peppermint. Production is slated to begin in Spring 2026 on the Gold Coast in Brisbane, Australia.
The Good Samaritan is based on an original screenplay by Matthew Ian Cirulnick (Rambo: Last Blood). Ridley will play Dr. Rosalind Carver, a highly successful entrepreneur.
The story ignites when Rosalind and her husband, Mark, spot a man drifting off the coast of Indonesia and decide to rescue him. They believe they are performing an act of charity, but they are, in fact, stepping directly into a deadly conspiracy. Within hours, their yacht vanishes, Mark is abducted, and their tropical paradise transforms into a lethal trap. Hunted by pirates and detained by corrupt local officials, Rosalind’s only chance for survival and rescue lies with Sean Fuller. Fuller is a private military contractor whose motives and past are shrouded in mystery. Rosalind and Fuller must then navigate a treacherous maze of deceit and violence in a foreign land where trust is a fatal luxury.
Highland Film Group is handling the international sales for the feature, with CAA Media Finance and UTA Independent Film Group co-representing the U.S. domestic rights.
