Long Winter Nights, a chilling new audio drama, reinvents the holiday tradition: a free horror-advent-calendar podcast premiering on December 1st.

From the award-winning creators behind the Emmy-nominated Welcome to the Blumhouse Live experience—Matthew G. Hill, Chelsea Sutton, and Lisa Sanaye Dring—comes a macabre seasonal ritual that fuses the beloved countdown of an advent calendar with the centuries-old custom of telling ghost stories at Christmastime.

25 Days of Yuletide Terror

Long Winter Nights unfolds as a modern horror advent calendar, delivering 25 original audio flash fiction tales of Yuletide terror, released nightly from December 1st through Christmas Day.

The series explores the dark heart of the holiday season—from twisted traditions and ancient specters to creeping existential dread. Each episode features a tale framed by a chilling, recurring motif: a mysterious cabinet door and the narrator’s ominous warning:

“Every night, a new little door. Every door, a new little horror.”

Creators and Cast

Developed and directed by Hill, Sutton, and Dring, the program fuses the intimacy of radio horror.

The series features an original score by Ovation Award–winning composer Adrien Prévost (Kaidan Project: Walls Grow Thin).

The stories are brought to life by Dawn Anderson, Mark Bramhall, Zachary Bones, Lacey Katena, and Amir Levi. Max Pava, Sarah Kay Peters, and Rose Portillo also star. Keiana Richàrd, Christopher Rivas, and Zoe Yale round out the cast.

Where to Listen

Long Winter Nights will premiere on December 1st and is available for free across all major podcast platforms, including Spotify, as well as on YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok.
