Director Francis Lawrence (The Hunger Games) has successfully translated Stephen King’s harrowing debut novel, “The Long Walk,” to the big screen. Following a successful theatrical run that grossed $57.6 million and earned an 87% “Certified Fresh” rating on Rotten Tomatoes, the dystopian thriller is now making its way to home libraries.
The Story
In a totalitarian version of America, the ultimate game show demands the ultimate price. One hundred teenage boys begin a non-stop walking contest. The rules are simple: maintain a speed of 4 mph. If you stop or slow down, you get a warning. Three warnings, and you are executed. The last boy standing receives whatever his heart desires—but he will be the only one left alive.
The ensemble cast features Cooper Hoffman, David Jonsson, and Roman Griffin Davis, supported by industry veterans Judy Greer and Mark Hamill.
