How do you know whether the terrifying moments in your life are actually real, or just the stuff of a horrifying nightmare? That’s the central, brain-bending question behind the new psychological horror film Sleepwalker, starring fan-favorite Hayden Panettiere (Scream) as Sarah Pangborn, a terrified mother.
Produced by East Greenwich’s Productions in conjunction with Leonardo DiCaprio’s Way Productions, this film is ready to mess with your head when it opens in theaters this January. Writer and director Brandon Auman sets out to completely blur the line between sleep and awake, keeping viewers constantly guessing.
The Blurry Line Between Real and Nightmare
Sarah is already coping with the car crash that left her young daughter (Corinne Sweeney) dead and her husband, Michael (Justin Chatwin), in a coma. Struggling to cope and raise her son, the family tension ratchets up when Michael’s sister, Joelle (Mischa Barton), debates Sarah about the agonizing decision of whether to “pull the plug.”
The cast also includes the iconic Beverly D’Angelo (Ellen Griswold from the Vacation movies) as Sarah’s mother. She offers a chilling hint about the structure when she explains how time works in dreams: “It can be hours or even days, but it’s just a few minutes.”
Coming Soon
A Quick Heads Up: Sleepwalker’s rating has not been announced. However, the trailer suggests some scenes feature graphic injuries that might be unsuitable for younger or squeamish viewers.
Catch the film starting January 9th at Apple Cinemas, located at 400 Bald Hill Rd, Warwick. A wider release will follow.
