Get those calendars out and clear your schedule, because the end is officially nigh! Amazon Prime Video has confirmed that the fifth and final season of the world’s most satirical, most shocking, and most wildly bloody superhero series, “The Boys,” is finally landing next spring!

The War Is Here: Homelander’s World, Butcher’s Weapon

The official description for Season 5 sounds like pure, chaotic escalation. If you thought things were tense before, buckle up! It is Homelander’s world now. Everything is now entirely subjected to Homelander’s erratic,  egomaniacal whims.

Meanwhile, our favorite crew of underdogs is scattered and in serious trouble. Hughie, Mother’s Milk, and Frenchie are stuck in a prison known as a ‘Freedom Camp’ (which we all know is anything but). Annie (Starlight) is struggling, trying to mount a resistance against an overwhelming Supe force, and Kimiko is entirely MIA.

When Butcher (Karl Urban) reappears after abandoning them at the end of Season 4, he brings a truly terrifying solution: a virus capable of wiping all Supes off the map! This single decision sets in motion a chain of events that will forever change the world and everyone in it. It’s the grand finale, and as the description warns: “Big stuff’s gonna happen.”

The Reunion We’ve Been Waiting For: “Supernatural” Meets Supes

Fans were treated to a monumental moment at the CCXP Brazil panel, where series creator Eric Kripke and the cast revealed the premiere date and the first teaser trailer. Why monumental? Because the teaser gave us our first glimpse of the ultimate TV reunion: Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles back on screen together!

While Ackles is reprising his role as the morally questionable WWII Supe Soldier Boy, Padalecki’s role in “The Boys has been kept under wraps, making the mystery even more thrilling. The trailer shows Padalecki’s currently unnamed character entering a room, followed by Soldier Boy and Homelander (Antony Starr), hinting at a major storyline that connects the two actors who played brothers Dean and Sam Winchester for 15 legendary seasons on  “Supernatural.”

The Boys Are Back

In addition to the returning heroes and villains mentioned above, the show brings back its intense and talented cast. That includes Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, Colby Minifie, Cameron Crovetti, Susan Heyward, and Valorie Curry.

The series is based on the best-selling comic book series by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. It is brought to life by showrunner Eric Kripke. And backed by a truly colossal team of executive producers, including Kripke, Ennis, Robertson, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and hails from Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios.

And speaking of Amazon, “The Boys isn’t just a show—it’s a universe! It’s the flagship title in a rapidly growing franchise that already includes the acclaimed college spin-off “Gen V,” the wild animated anthology “The Boys Presents: Diabolical,” and the upcoming Ackles-led prequel “Vought Rising.” Plus, there’s even a mysterious Mexico-set series currently in development.

It’s the final battle, people! You can check out the teaser trailer below and prepare yourself for the chaos! The final season will kick off with its first two episodes on April 8, new episodes will roll out weekly, leading us right up to the series finale on May 20.
