Get ready to hold onto the edge of your seat, because the hunt is back on! NBC just debuted the official trailer for the highly anticipated Second season of “The Hunting Party.” Everything points to an even bigger, more explosive return!
The Premise: Where the Killers Come From
If you caught the first season, you know this is not your grandma’s procedural. “The Hunting Party“ is a high-concept, high-stakes crime thriller centered around former FBI profiler Rebecca “Bex” Henderson (Melissa Roxburgh). She leads a small, elite team assembled for one purpose: to track down and capture the most dangerous, untraceable killers the world has ever seen.
But the stakes are now global. In Season 2, the team’s targets are a massive wave of deadly fugitives who have just escaped from “The Pit.” What is “The Pit”? It’s not just a maximum-security lockup; it’s a top-secret government prison that is literally not supposed to exist.
As Bex and her squad race against the clock to catch these extremely dangerous killers before they can disappear forever, Bex is going to uncover a truly twisted truth: the only thing more messed up than the fugitives they’re chasing is the prison itself. “The Pit” wasn’t just a place to hold them—it’s something far more sinister that is now unleashing chaos on the world.
A Killer Lineup of Talent
The regular cast is back and ready for action, including Melissa Roxburgh leading the charge, alongside series regulars Nick Weschler, Patrick Sabongui, Josh McKenzie, and Sara Garcia.
But the guest star lineup for Season 2 is absolutely stacked! Prepare for intense performances from fan favorites like Eric McCormack, Finnigan McCormack, Kelsey Grammer, Niecy Nash-Betts, Liz Gillies, Jefferson White, and many more still to be announced! That’s a serious amount of star power coming to your screen!
Behind the camera, the show is in excellent hands. It was created by JJ Bailey, who serves as co-showrunner alongside Jake Coburn. The team also includes executive producer and director Thor Freudenthal, and writer/executive producer Michael Jones Morales.
Coming Soon
With this kind of pedigree, a cast full of familiar faces, and a premise that’s pure procedural dynamite. The action-packed second season will explode onto NBC on Thursday, January 8th, at 10 p.m. ET/PT, settling right into that sweet post-Law & Order: SVU time slot.
