The powerhouse production company Divide/Conquer (run by producers Adam Hendricks and Greg Gilreath) has just signed a huge first-look deal with the newly merged horror titan, Blumhouse-Atomic Monster (that’s Jason Blum and James Wan’s combined super-studio)!

Essentially, this means we are about to get a significant flood of fresh, scary, and high-concept films. The core goal of this pact is simple: to find and champion the next wave of killer genre storytellers. Divide/Conquer is known for leading the charge on high-concept, cost-efficient films, and now they have the full backing of the two most prominent names in horror to bring those nightmares to life.

The First Project is Already Locked: Doomtown

The deal is already yielding results, with the first project moving into fast-track development: Doomtown!

This is a new survival horror feature written by Chris Thomas Devlin, a name you should definitely know. Devlin previously wrote the terrifying film Cobweb. He also penned The Texas Chainsaw Massacre for Legendary, which reached number one on Netflix. With that resume, Doomtown is instantly one to watch!

And the producing team is stacked. It includes James Wan, who is producing, with Michael Clear and Ingrid Bisu. Judson Scott is an executive producer for Atomic Monster. Adam Hendricks and Greg Gilreath are producing for Divide/Conquer.

The Horror Dream Team is Thrilled

Jason Blum, Founder & CEO of Blumhouse, called the Divide/Conquer producers “exceptional creative partners” who bring discipline and a deep understanding of the genre. “This partnership gives us a focused vertical designed to champion bold ideas; work that has always been core to both of our companies,” he said.

Adam Hendricks & Greg Gilreath of Divide/Conquer highlighted their long history with Blum, dating back to a 2014 Sundance mentorship. They said they are thrilled to continue collaborating with Blumhouse and the “incredible team at Atomic Monster,” noting that together they can “pursue even more ambitious genre stories.”

Michael Clear, President of Atomic Monster, added that writer Chris Thomas Devlin “delivered a script that’s smart, eerie, and full of ideas,” making Doomtown “a strong start to this new chapter.”

A History of Box Office Hits

This new deal is built on a foundation of success. Blumhouse and Divide/Conquer have already collaborated on a slate of major hits that redefined modern horror and comedy, including:

In short: the creators of your favorite modern horror movies are officially teaming up to bring you more, and we are absolutely ready for the next wave of scares! The future of genre filmmaking just got a whole lot brighter—and a whole lot bloodier.
