Robert Louis Stevenson’s Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde has inspired filmmakers to portray Mr. Hyde in many ways over the last 140 years. But 2026 is finally giving us the version we actually deserve: a bloodthirsty man-shark. If you’re a fan of “so-bad-it ‘s-good” cinema, get ready to dive in.

Grief, Obsession, and Sharcopine?

The story follows Dr. Henry Jekyll, who is—understandably—a wreck after the death of his wife. Instead of therapy, Jekyll turns to Sharcopine, an untested drug that warps his body into a massive, bipedal shark monster.

Driven by a mix of predatory instinct and “love from beyond the grave,” Jekyll-Shark hits the streets. He’s on a mission to hunt down anyone he deems a threat to his relationship with his dead bride. It’s a gothic tragedy meets a Syfy original movie, and it is every bit as glorious as it sounds.

Behind the Scenes: A New Era of Indie Horror

This film marks a double debut for the creative team, with Max Raven making his directorial debut and Bando Glutz making his scriptwriting debut. As for the cast, Randy Clower brings Jekyll (and his aquatic alter-ego) to life, joined by Dani Bliss, Erica Muse, and Victoria Chaney.

Special Features: For the True Fin-Fans

Wild Eye isn’t just dropping the movie and leaving; the DVD is packed with indie goodies to help you get to know the crew behind the chaos:

  • Director Introduction (Set the mood with Max Raven)

  • Meet the Cast: Featurettes for Dani Bliss, Erica Muse, and Randy Clower

  • Outtakes: Because you know, filming a shark-man movie involves a lot of laughing

  • Trailers

Why We’re Excited

In a world of $200 million blockbusters, there is something magical about an indie horror-comedy that asks, “What if Jekyll was a shark?” and then actually goes and makes it. It’s the perfect pick for a “bad movie night” with friends and a large bucket of popcorn.

Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Shark, a campy take on the classic gothic horror tale, arrives on DVD and Digital on January 20 via Wild Eye Releasing.
