Get ready to experience the ultimate DIY apocalypse! Todd Sheets’ legendary 1997 shot-on-video (SOV) epic, Violent New Breed, is finally escaping the VHS vaults and landing on Blu-ray for the very first time. Thanks to the physical media heroes over at Visual Vengeance, this splatter-filled masterpiece is set to hit shelves this January.

If you like your horror raw, homemade, and absolutely unhinged, this is the Holy Grail you’ve been waiting for.

Drugs, Demons, and Dolemite

New York City is being overrun by a vicious new street drug called “Rapture.” Two burnt-out cops are tasked with finding the source. But this isn’t your average drug war. It turns out the “cooks” are actually a legion of demons living underneath Manhattan. And they’ve just given birth to the Antichrist!

The movie turns into a sleaze-soaked race against time to convince a kung-fu-fighting pastor, played by none other than blaxploitation legend Rudy Ray Moore (Dolemite), to save the world.

Why This Is a Big Deal

Todd Sheets is an SOV auteur, and Violent New Breed is easily his most ambitious project. It’s got everything.

It’s got a heavy Satanic Panic Vibe, and perfectly channels that late-80s/early-90s paranoia about rituals and possessed kids. Looking for gore? This movie features cracked skulls, tentacles bursting through stomachs, and a birth scene you’ll never forget.

The “Visual Vengeance” Collector’s Edition

Visual Vengeance isn’t just giving us a bare-bones disc; they are packing this thing with over 12 hours of bonus content.

What’s inside the box:

  • Four Versions of the Film: You get a new remastered movie from the original tape elements, along with the original DVD version. You’ll also receive the R-rated cut that aired on The Movie Channel and the original VHS release.

  • Tons of Extras: Three different commentary tracks, a behind-the-scenes documentary, and a featurette on what it was like for Todd Sheets to work with Rudy Ray Moore.

  • Collector Swag: A limited edition “Birth Announcement” reproduction, a mini-poster featuring original Ghana art, and a booklet with liner notes by Tony Strauss.
