The Starks are officially reuniting, but this isn’t exactly a happy homecoming at Winterfell. Sophie Turner and Kit Harington are back on screen together in the upcoming Gothic horror film The Dreadful, and we are absolutely here for this dark Game of Thrones reunion!

The Plot: A Medieval Nightmare

Set deep in the heart of medieval England, the story follows Anne (Sophie Turner) and her mother-in-law, Morwen (Marcia Gay Harden). The two live a harsh, isolated life on the fringes of society, just trying to get by. In this film, “demons walk the earth in the shape of men.”

Everything changes when a man from Anne’s past (Kit Harington) returns from the war. His arrival triggers a sinister curse that manifests through a mysterious, terrifying knight. Suddenly, their struggle for survival isn’t just about hunger and cold—it’s about a supernatural force that threatens to tear their world apart.

Why We’re Watching

Seeing Sansa and Jon Snow share the screen again is the hook, but this time they’re trading political intrigue for ancient curses.

Adding Academy Award winner Marcia Gay Harden to the mix guarantees some high-intensity drama, while Laurence O’Fuarain (The Witcher: Blood Origin) rounds out the gritty cast.

Writer and director Natasha Kermani, known for her atmospheric, unnerving style, is the perfect choice to bring this “Dreadful” Gothic world to life.

Arriving Soon

Lionsgate is releasing this eerie tale in theaters, on demand, and on Digital on February 20, 2026. If you love your horror with a side of chainmail, misty forests, and crushing dread, this is definitely the one to watch this February.
