If you’re looking for a reason to cancel your next ski trip, Black Mandala has precisely what you need. They’ve just unveiled the trailer for the award-winning film The Behemoth. It is a chilling cult-horror directed by Kai Edmund Bogatzki that proves some secrets are better left buried under the snow.

Set against the eerie, silent backdrop of a remote mountain resort, this film trades typical slasher tropes for deep Lovecraftian mythology. It’s a story about what happens when spiritual desperation and the human need for meaning take a very, very dark turn.

A Vacation From Hell

Rebecca and Ryan just wanted a quiet weekend away. They head to a secluded mountain cabin to find some peace, and at first, their host, Christine, seems like the perfect, supportive neighbor. But the “peace” doesn’t last long.

The couple quickly finds themselves caught in the middle of a nightmare involving a cult known as the Servants of Blood. Things go from weird to worse when Christine is abducted and prepped for an apocalyptic ritual. The kicker? Rebecca and Ryan aren’t just innocent bystanders—they are actually essential parts of the cult’s grand, bloody design.

Enter the Demon

The ritual isn’t just for show. From the aftermath of the ceremony, Behemoth is born. It is an ancient demon fueled by nothing but bloodlust and a need for domination.

To make it off the mountain alive, Rebecca has to face her own inner demons. All while fleeing the cult that trapped her, and find a way to take down the monstrous entity she unintentionally helped bring into the world.

The cast of this dark and terror-filled film includes Sarah Dawes, Ryan Wichert, Beatrice Fletcher, Johnny Vivash, Wilfried Capet, Alison Harris, Max Evans, Thilo Gosejohann, and Stephanie Dickson.

Why We’re Excited

The Behemoth aims to deliver a relentless descent into cosmic horror. It’s the kind of movie where devotion leads straight to damnation. And the price of survival is almost too high to pay. If you like your horror atmospheric, snowy, and filled with ancient monsters, this is one you won’t want to miss.
