It’s a great time to be a horror fan! We’re still six months away from the release of Evil Dead Burn; however, New Line Cinema and Sony Pictures are already doubling down. They’ve officially greenlit another Evil Dead movie!
Following the massive success of Evil Dead Rise (which grossed a cool $147 million), the franchise shows no signs of slowing down.
The New Team: A “Midnight Mass” Favorite Joins In
The untitled film will be written and directed by Francis Galluppi. The plot is being kept in a cellar for now. However, the cast list is already looking stacked with genre heavyweights. Zach Gilford—a total fan-favorite from Mike Flanagan’s “Midnight Mass” and “The Fall of the House of Usher”—is officially on board! Charlotte Hope (The Nun), Ella Newton (Dangerous Animals), and Jessica McNamee (Mortal Kombat) are also set to star. Josh Helman (Mad Max: Fury Road) and Elizabeth Cullen round out a cast that feels ideally suited for some Deadite-slaying action.
The “Holy Trinity” of the franchise is producing: Sam Raimi, Bruce Campbell, and Rob Tapert, alongside Lee Cronin.
Don’t Forget: “Evil Dead Burn” is Coming First!
Before we get to Galluppi’s film, we have to survive Sébastien Vaniček’s Evil Dead Burn. You can watch it in theaters on July 24, 2026.
This one stars Hunter Doohan (Wednesday), Souheila Yacoub, and Luciane Buchanan. If you’re hoping for a “light” horror movie, you might want to look elsewhere. Vaniček has promised that he’s making a “nasty film” that’s meant to test the audience.
“I’m going to put all the horror I have inside… it will be cathartic,” Vaniček teased.
What to Expect
While we don’t have a title for the new Galluppi project yet, the formula for a great movie is pretty much set in stone. Someone finds a book they shouldn’t open (The Necronomicon). Someone reads a passage they shouldn’t say out loud. Kandarian demons turn everyone into foul-mouthed, bloodthirsty Deadites. Then chaos ensues.
With two movies on the horizon, the Evil Dead universe is officially back in full swing! And we are totally here for it! While you wait, watch Evil Dead Rise now on Hulu, HBO, Netflix, or Prime.
