Netflix is cooking up something seriously dark and gritty, and the cast for “All the Sinners Bleed” is officially shaping up to be a powerhouse. Based on the hit novel by S.A. Cosby, this high-stakes thriller just added Oscar nominee Amy Madigan, who played the infamous Aunt Gladys in Weapons, to the roster, joining a lineup that already has “prestige TV” written all over it.
The Sheriff in Town
Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù (Gangs of London, Slow Horses) is stepping into the boots of Titus Crown. Titus is a man with some serious baggage—he’s the first Black Sheriff in a tiny, ultra-conservative Bible Belt county.
As if navigating small-town politics wasn’t enough, he’s now on the hunt for a brutal serial killer. Dìrísù is basically the king of “brooding and brilliant,” so he’s the perfect fit for this. Plus, he’s staying busy at Netflix; you’ll also see him soon in Black Rabbit with Jude Law and Jason Bateman.
A Stacked Support System
The talent doesn’t stop there. The series recently confirmed that Nicole Beharie and Amy Madigan have also joined the cast.
The Heavy Hitters Behind the Lens
If you’re worried the adaptation will stay true to the book, breathe easy. The creative team is elite. Joe Robert Cole (co-writer of Black Panther) is serving as showrunner and director. Barack and Michelle Obama’s Higher Ground Productions, teaming up with Spielberg’s Amblin Television, which has just given us Leave the World Behind and Bodkin. It’s safe to say they know how to pick a winner.
Production is already underway in Atlanta, so it won’t be long before it hits the small screen.
