The Housemaid has been cleaning up at the box office. In fact, it’s already raked in a massive $305 million. If you missed the theatrical run—or you’re just ready to obsess over every hidden detail from the comfort of your couch—you’re in luck. The adaptation of Freida McFadden’s viral, “rent-free-in-your-head” novel is hitting VOD and Digital this February!

No Such Thing as a Fresh Start

The story centers on Millie (played by the incredible Sydney Sweeney). She is a young woman with a complex past who is seeking a “clean slate.” She thinks she’s hit the jackpot when she’s hired as a live-in maid for a wealthy, glamorous family.

However, as anyone who has read the book knows, “picture-perfect” is usually just a mask for “completely unhinged.” Between her employer Nina’s erratic, hot-and-cold behavior and the suffocating atmosphere of the mansion itself, Millie quickly learns that the secrets are hiding behind those mahogany doors.

A Dream Team of Talent

This project brought together a powerhouse cast and crew that you wouldn’t necessarily expect for a dark thriller, which makes it even more exciting. Amanda Seyfried (The Dropout) stars alongside Sweeney and Brandon Sklenar (1923).

The film is directed by Paul Feig (Bridesmaids). Feig has traded his usual comedies for what he calls a “sexy, surprising rollercoaster.” And with a script by Rebecca Sonnenshine (The Boys), you can bet the psychological tension is dialed up to eleven.

Why You Can’t Miss It

Fans of the book and the film, you can breathe a sigh of relief. Amanda Seyfried has assured audiences that the film stays incredibly loyal to the source material:

“It captures everything fans loved about the book—the secrets, the tension, and those massive twists.”

Whether you’re a die-hard McFadden fan or love a “who’s-actually-the-villain” mystery, this is the ultimate watch for February. And here is the best part: if you finish the movie and find yourself craving more, a sequel is already in the works!

The Housemaid arrives on Digital and VOD this Tuesday, February 3.
