Skip the candy hearts this year—February 2026 is serving up a massive wave of horror. Whether you want to hit the theater for a big-budget slasher or curl up on the couch for an indie nightmare, here are some brand-new horror movies to watch this Valentine’s Day.

The Mortuary Assistant (Theatrical/Shudder)

Release Date: February 13, 2026

Based on the viral horror game, this film follows a mortuary science grad whose first night shift at River Fields Mortuary turns into a demonic survival game. It’s the perfect “anti-Valentine” pick if you prefer cold slabs and possessions over candlelight and romance.

Honey Bunch (Shudder/VOD)

Release Date: February 13, 2026

If you want something that actually deals with relationships (in the most twisted way possible), this is it. It’s an experimental horror-thriller about a husband and wife who undergo “intensive procedures” at a remote medical facility. It’s been described as a “marriage test” that goes off the rails—ideal for couples who like their horror high-concept and psychological.

The Strangers: Chapter 3 (Theatrical)

Release Date: February 6, 2026

Renny Harlin’s trilogy reaches its brutal conclusion just in time for the holiday. Following the events of the first two chapters, Maya (Madelaine Petsch) faces a final, terrifying showdown with the masked killers. Nothing says “I love you” like surviving a home invasion together.

Dracula (Limited Theatrical)

Release Date: February 6, 2026

Directed by Luc Besson, this is a fresh, gothic reimagining of the classic Bram Stoker story. While it’s definitely a horror movie, it leans heavily into the dark, obsessive romance between Dracula and Mina. If you want a “romantic” vibe without losing the fangs, this is your best bet.

The Observance (Select Theaters)

Release Date: February 13, 2026

Director Rob Hollocks presents a film about a woman who spent five years in a coma. After waking up, she learns her family and home have been taken over by a brutal cut. However, she’s not giving up without a fight. Ted Raimi co-stars.

Honourable Mention: If you’d rather order take-out and watch a Valentine’s Day-themed horror movie, Heart Eyes is now streaming.
