Back in September, we reported that Lou Ferrigno, the legendary powerhouse best known as The Incredible Hulk, is starring in the upcoming horror film The Hermit. This time, he’s ditching the superheroics for a full-on nightmare in the new horror-thriller. Today, we report that this film finally has a release date.

The Gory Details

In his first-ever horror role, Ferrigno plays a reclusive pig farmer with a dark side hustle: turning tourists into “specialty” jerky. Think dark, gritty, and a little bit “quirky”—basically a cannibalistic twist on a classic woods-slasher.

Joining Lou are Malina Weissman (A Series of Unfortunate Events) and Anthony Turpel (Love, Victor), playing the unlucky teens who stumble onto the wrong farm.

Who is Lou Ferrigno?

Ferrigno played the original Incredible Hulk (1977–1982). His fame doesn’t stop there. He’s also a two-time Mr. Universe winner and was Arnold Schwarzenegger’s primary rival in the famous documentary Pumping Iron. Here’s a fun fact: He provided the voice (or vocal effects) for the Hulk in several MCU films, including The Avengers: Legacy. Beyond acting, he’s a longtime deputy sheriff and a strong advocate for fitness and hearing-loss awareness (he lost 80% of his hearing as a child).

Why It’s a Big Deal

This marks a significant milestone for Ferrigno, who hasn’t played a “monster” role since his iconic days at CBS. According to Lou, he’s a huge horror fan and is excited to be the one scaring people rather than saving them.

Coming Soon

The film, directed by Salvatore Sclafani in his English-language debut, promises a performance from Ferrigno that “horror fans won’t see coming.” The good thing is, you don’t have to wait long to watch The Hermit. Catch it on Digital and On Demand starting March 3, right after its L.A. premiere on March 2.
