Buckle up, because Grace is back, and she’s trading her wedding vows for a vendetta. Searchlight Pictures is clearly feeling the hype for Ready or Not 2: Here I Come!, because they’ve officially moved the release date up a week! Instead of waiting, we’re getting this blood-soaked sequel on March 20, 2026, right after it tears the roof off its world premiere at SXSW.
From Survival to Succession
Remember the end of the 2019 original? Grace (Samara Weaving) was sitting on the porch, covered in the “remains” of her in-laws, smoking a cigarette like a total boss. If you thought she was going to retire to a beach somewhere, think again.
The sequel picks up almost immediately after that explosion. It turns out the Le Domas family was just the tutorial level. By surviving, Grace inadvertently triggered the “next level” of a massive, global game. This time, she’s not just running; she’s competing for the “High Seat of the Council”—the shadowy group that actually runs the world.
Twice the Trouble, Four Times the Families
The newly released trailer shows that Grace isn’t flying solo this time. She’s been forced to team up with her estranged sister, Faith (Kathryn Newton). In a move that screams “buddy-horror nightmare,” the two are shown chained together, forced to play a game of Hide and Seek with international stakes.
It’s not just one crazy family anymore, either. Grace and Faith are being hunted by four rival dynasties, all of whom want that throne—and Grace’s head.
A Cast of Horror Royalty
Directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett (collectively known as Radio Silence) have assembled an insane lineup for this round. There are icons, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Elijah Wood, who are officially entering the game. Kevin Durand, Shawn Hatosy, and Néstor Carbonell are also in. But hold on, there’s a wild card. Body-horror legend David Cronenberg is making a rare acting appearance.
“We wanted to make sure this movie wasn’t just more of the same… it’s a new f—ed-up situation that deepens Grace’s story,” the duo shared.
“John Wick” Stakes with More Gore
Radio Silence isn’t interested in a “copy-paste” sequel. They’ve described this film as a massive expansion of the lore. Imagine the world-building of John Wick, but infused with dark comedy and many more exploding limbs.
Get ready to witness a brutal name game when Ready or Not: Here I Come hits theaters on March 20, 2026.
