Daniel XIII; the result of an arcane ritual involving a King Diamond album, a box of Count Chocula, and a copy of Swank magazine, is a screenwriter, director, producer, actor, artist, and reviewer of fright flicks…Who hates ya baby?

Violet (Lori Thomas) is a lady that knows what she wants… and what she apparently wants is a fuck sesh with a stranger.

To that end she brings home Chuck (Robin Macklin) a NYC dude that is more than willing to visit her opulent home… complete with wine cellar (but we’ll get back to that)… in which she dwells alone.

After some fucking, showering, and fucking (but no more showering… yet) Violet reveals her true nature as a creature of the night, but Chuck isn’t up for a fang bang so he hits the trail… or at least he tries to but his fluids are low on many accounts, so he just sort of passes out.

Now a prisoner in Violet’s house of horrors he gets involved with more fucking and watching a lesbian tryst, but will he survive the orgiastic ordeal or will he fall victim to the other vampire that dwells in the dank dark of that previously mentioned wine cellar!

Running a total of 59 minutes, Director Jeffrey Arsenault (Night Owl) and Screenwriter Kevin J. Lindenmuth (Vampires and Other Stereotypes) certainly don’t beat around the beastly bush… you get tits, sex, showers and a fang or two in rapid succession!

Date With a Vampire is an erotic vampire thriller stripped to the absolute bone, but you do get a hint or two of subtext as the decadent past of New York City easily collides with the modern views of city residents… but both are revealed to have a degree of wonton wickedness that plays well together, until things get teethy as fuck…

While the feature may be brief, Visual Vengeance present this Blu-ray release like a coffin packed fat with bonus material!

Things kick off with a fascinating commentary from Arsenault who takes us through the feature’s production in complete detail. Following that we get interviews with Arsenault, Lindenmuth, Actors Cynthia Polakovich (who plays the films only other victim) and Joe Zaso (who portrayed our ol’ putrid pal, the Basement Vampire), and Location Manager Nathan Thompson (who also provides a tour of the film’s location in a separate featurette).

After that comes an image gallery, and a duo of trailers for the film.

Also included is 2002’s Blood Craving, also from Arsenault, which involves vampires chaining dudes up in a basement to harvest their blood… it also runs a solid 29 minutes (even with a rando interview with Caroline Munro (Starcrash) jammed into it).

Special features are present here as well including another commentary and interview with Arsenault, an image gallery, and a collection of trailers for the short (which wasn’t intended to actually be one, but here we are)… as well as a trailer reel highlighting other films from Arsenault.

Also included in the release are reproduction labels from a VHS rental store, a folded mini-poster, and a reversible sleeve.

A quick blast of vampire-centric horniness, Date With a Vampire gives you exactly what you crave from a softcore fright flick like this, and the commentaries included prove a fantastic learning experience for those that want to create their own small budget pictures!
