If you love a good “detective vs. inner demons” story, keep Hyde on your radar. The Phillips brothers (Rumble Through the Dark) have tapped heavyweights Bill Camp and Bruce Greenwood to lead their upcoming thriller. The premise sounds like a dark, psychological journey.
A Hunt for a “Monster”
Bill Camp stars as Grimes, a detective navigating the grime and decay of a crumbling city on the hunt for a serial killer. Here’s the twist: Bruce Greenwood plays his court-mandated therapist. As they dig into Grimes’ psyche, it becomes clear that the monster he’s looking for might be a little too close for comfort.
Both leads are currently on absolute heaters:
Bill Camp is everywhere right now. He’s in HBO’s “The Gilded Age,” Netflix’s Sirens, and upcoming projects with Glen Powell and Will Ferrell. He’s one of the most reliable “actor’s actors” in the business.
Bruce Greenwood, fresh off his iconic run in “The Fall of the House of Usher,” remains the king at playing sophisticated, slightly mysterious figures.
Whether this is a literal Jekyll-and-Hyde reimagining or a metaphorical descent into madness, with these two actors in the room, the dialogue scenes alone will be electric.
The Logistics
Cameras start rolling this May in Bucharest, Romania—a perfect backdrop for a “decaying metropolis,” Variety reports.
Hyde is produced by Traction and Cassian Elwes, with a script that promises to be much more than a standard police procedural. Hopefully, more casting news will surface soon, and when it does, we’ll let you know.
