Forget everything you know about animatronic weasels—Kevin Lewis, the mad scientist behind the cult hit Willy’s Wonderland, is trading the “Cagenage” for some high-stakes heist mayhem.

His latest film, Misdirection, officially releases on Digital and VOD today, February 10, 2026. It’s a total 180 from his usual horror roots. He’s trading jump scares for a “home invasion with a twist” thriller. And it stars a powerhouse action trio: Frank Grillo, Olga Kurylenko, and Oliver Trevena.

The story follows a desperate couple, Sarah (Kurylenko) and Jason (Trevena), who have been pulling off high-end heists to pay off a massive mob debt. They decide to go for one “last” job—targeting the home of a prominent defense attorney, David Blume (Grillo).

Naturally, things go south. They think they have the whole evening, but Blume returns early, and the security system locks down. Suddenly, the thieves are the ones trapped. Between hidden secrets and a web of deception, they realize they aren’t just in a house—they’re in a death trap where the “victim” might be the most dangerous person in the room.

Kevin Lewis proved he could handle “balls-to-the-wall” action with Willy’s Wonderland. Watching him pivot to a grounded, suspenseful “neo-noir” thriller is a blast. As the title suggests, nothing is what it seems. The “misdirection” will keep you guessing until the credits roll.

I recently caught up with Kevin to talk about the making of Misdirection. We also discussed his experience working with Nic Cage and his busy upcoming slate. If you’re a horror fan, don’t worry—he’s heading back to the genre soon. I Am Your Driver is coming soon. It is a 90s-set “horror-comedy.” Jeremy Piven stars as a limo driver who takes a group of prom-goers on a very wrong detour.
