The Duffer Brothers might be wrapping things up on the main “Stranger Things” series, but they aren’t done traumatizing us just yet! Netflix just dropped the first teaser for their new horror series, “Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen,” and—shocker—the title isn’t exactly a metaphor. We’re looking at the literal wedding from hell.
Grab your bridesmaids and a bottle of something strong, because here is everything we know about this eight-episode nightmare.
“Till Death Do Us Part” (Literally)
If Carrie is about the horror of puberty and Rosemary’s Baby is about pregnancy, this show is the horror of becoming a wife.
The story follows Rachel (Camila Morrone) and her fiancé Nicky (Adam DiMarco) as they head to a secluded, snowy forest for their dream wedding. Five days to go! What could go wrong? The series is filled with paranoia and conflict as Rachel is convinced that something is off. Between eerie “coincidences” and creepy surprises, she starts to realize that “lifelong commitment” might be scarier than any ghost.
A Killer Cast
The lineup for the series features horror royalty. We’ve got Jennifer Jason Leigh (Single White Female), and there’s Ted Levine. Yes, Buffalo Bill himself from The Silence of the Lambs. There are also some fresh faces, including Jeff Wilbusch, Karla Crome, Gus Birney, and Sawyer Fraser.
The Masterminds
The series was created and run by Haley Z. Boston (Cabinet of Curiosities). She basically took her mom’s advice—”don’t marry the wrong person”—and turned it into a high-stakes slasher.
The series is directed by Weronika Tofilska (the genius behind Baby Reindeer), along with Axelle Carolyn and Lisa Brühlmann. With the Duffer Brothers executive producing, you know it’s going to be stylish and terrifying.
Just “Say I Do”
If anyone asks if you want to binge all eight episodes, say “I do!” “Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen” premieres on Netflix on March 26, 2026. And if you’re still craving that Duffer 80s nostalgia, don’t forget that the first trailer for “Stranger Things ’85” just dropped, too. It’s a good year to be a Duffer fan!
