Ready for a movie that’s actually “scary-funny”? Atlas Distribution Company is bringing the star-studded horror-comedy Scared to Death to theaters nationwide, and let’s be real: they picked the perfect release date—Friday, March 13th.
Legends and the Newcomers
The cast list for this flick is basically a “Who’s Who” of horror royalty and rising stars. Icons include Lin Shaye (the heart and soul of the Insidious movies) and Bill Moseley (The Devil’s Rejects). Olivier Paris, Victoria Konefal, B.J. Minor, Jade Chynoweth, and the legendary Rae Dawn Chong (The Color Purple) are all on board. Keep an eye out for rock frontman Kurt Deimer (Halloween 2018). He plays a character called “The Grog,” and word is he absolutely steals the show.
What’s the Vibe?
Think of this as the spiritual lovechild of cult classics like Young Frankenstein, Shaun of the Dead, and Slither. It’s irreverent, it’s wild, and—believe it or not—it’s loosely inspired by true events (joining the ranks of The Exorcist and A Nightmare on Elm Street).
Scottish filmmaker Paul Boyd is taking this ride across North America. You’ll be able to find it in all the major hubs, including NYC, LA, and Chicago. It will also screen from Austin and Nashville to Miami, Boston, Philly, and beyond.
The Team Behind the Screams
It’s not just a powerhouse cast; the crew is stacked, too. We’ve got cinematography by Steven Poster, ASC, a score by Misha Segal, and original songs by Kurt Deimer.
Get ready to get “Scared to Death!”
