If you think police bodycam footage is tense enough already, wait until you see what director Brandon Christensen has cooked up. His new horror film, Bodycam, is set to stream on Shudder. Here’s what you need to know.
A Cover-Up Gone Wrong
The story begins with two officers responding to a routine domestic dispute call. Things escalate fast, adrenaline takes over, and a tragic accident leaves a body on the ground. Terrified of the public fallout and the end of their careers, the duo decides to cover up the incident.
But there’s a catch. While they might be able to hide the footage from their precinct, they can’t hide from whateveris watching them from the shadows. Something supernatural saw exactly what happened, and it’s out for street justice.
Behind the Lens
Brandon Christensen is a name horror fans should definitely know. He’s the mind behind some of the most unsettling hits of the last few years, including: Still/Born (Exploring the terrifying side of postpartum), Z (That imaginary friend you definitely don’t want), and The Puppetman.
Christensen is famous for his “daytime horror” style—he doesn’t take you down a dark alley to scare you; he can make a sunny living room feel like a death trap. With Bodycam, he’s shifting his focus from family dynamics to the high-stakes world of law enforcement, and if his track record is any indication, it’s going to be a stressful ride.
The cast features a line-up of talented folks, including Jaime Callica, Sean Rogerson, Catherine Lough Haggquist, Angel Prater, and Keegan Connor Tracy.
