Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die
-
The Vibe: Action-Comedy / Sci-Fi Horror
-
The Plot: Sam Rockwell stars as a “Man from the Future” who crashes into a Los Angeles diner with a dire warning: an AI singularity is about to destroy humanity in exactly one hour. He recruits a ragtag group of diner patrons (including Juno Temple and Haley Lu Richardson) to help him break into a nearby lab and stop the apocalypse. It’s a wild, “Black Mirror-esque” ride that tackles tech addiction with a dark, comedic edge.
Cold Storage
-
The Vibe: Body Horror / Viral Thriller
-
The Plot: Based on the novel by David Koepp (Jurassic Park screenwriter), this stars Joe Keery and Georgina Campbell as two graveyard-shift employees at a storage facility. When a highly contagious, mind-controlling fungus escapes from a sealed military sub-level, they have to team up with a retired bioterror operative (Liam Neeson) to stop the “green ooze” from spreading to the rest of the world. Expect plenty of “body-bursting” practical effects.
Honey Bunch
-
The Vibe: Gothic / Psychological Horror
-
The Plot: A Shudder original that follows Diana (Grace Glowicki), a woman who wakes from a coma with severe memory loss. Her husband (Ben Petrie) takes her to a remote, experimental trauma center in the wilderness to recover. However, as Diana’s memories slowly return, she begins to realize her marriage—and the facility itself—hold much darker secrets than she imagined. It’s being described as a hallucinatory, unsettling look at domestic life.
This Is Not a Test
Directed by Adam MacDonald (Backcountry), it isn’t your standard slow-walker movie. It stars Olivia Holt as Sloane, a teen trapped in her high school during a hyper-violent outbreak. While the monsters (who run, by the way) are trying to get in, the crumbling social hierarchy inside the school is just as lethal. Be sure to check out our interview with the director!
Psycho Killer (Limited Release)
This gritty slasher-thriller is generating buzz for its “old-school” vibe. While details have been kept relatively quiet, it’s being positioned as a tense, stylized hunt.
