This isn’t just a movie; it’s a full-on cinematic takeover. Maggie Gyllenhaal is making her IMAX debut with The Bride!, and she didn’t just “use” the format—she built the entire film inside of it. From day one of pre-production, Gyllenhaal treated IMAX like a creative language, obsessing over camera tests and footage at IMAX HQ to ensure her vision hit as hard as possible.

The Full-Scale Experience

Get ready to see more of the action. The film was shot with IMAX-certified digital cameras. Nearly half the movie—72 minutes to be exact—features IMAX’s exclusive Expanded Aspect Ratio. At select IMAX with Laser locations, sequences will blow up to the towering 1.43:1 ratio. This gives you the largest image possible on the planet. Also, every single frame has been polished with IMAX’s proprietary remastering (DMR) for crystal-clear clarity. So, we’re talking a custom sound mix designed for the industry’s biggest speakers. The film’s industrial rock score will be loud, electrifying, and totally immersive.

A Wild, Radical Romance

Now, this isn’t your typical monster movie. It’s a bold, “auteur-driven” ride that jumps between black-and-white and color to tell a story that is as fearless as it is visually stunning.

In The Bride! a lonely Frankenstein (Christian Bale) treks to 1930s Chicago to find Dr. Euphronious (Annette Bening) and create a companion. They revive a murdered young woman, and The Bride (Jessie Buckley) is born. However, what follows is pure chaos: possession, murder, a radical cultural movement, and an absolutely combustible romance.

The Squad

Bale and Bening are joined by Jessie Buckley, Christian Bale, Peter Sarsgaard, Annette Bening, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Penélope Cruz. Talk about a dream cast.

To celebrate its upcoming release, a new featurette has been unleashed, giving you a look inside the film. The Bride! hits IMAX on March 6. Get your tickets now!
