If you’ve been dying for more monotone snark and macabre mysteries, things are finally looking up—or down, in Wednesday’s case. According to recent updates from the crew, the cameras are officially rolling on Season 3 of the Netflix megahit.

Here is the lowdown on what we know about the next chapter of the Addams saga.

When is the Big Day?

While Netflix hasn’t set it in stone, it’s looking like a 2027 release date is the most likely scenario. Here’s why:

Production Timeline: Star Luis Guzmán (Gomez Addams) previously hinted that filming would kick off in February 2026.
Crew Confirmation: Jenna Ortega’s stunt double, Jenny Ayumi Umbhau, recently fueled the fire with an Instagram story suggesting production is indeed underway.
The “Seven-Month” Rule: Actor Hunter Doohan (Tyler Galpin) mentioned on the Inside of You podcast that the shoot usually lasts seven to eight months, likely wrapping around October 2026.
Post-Production: Once they finish filming in Dublin, Ireland, the heavy lifting of editing and VFX means we won’t see the finished product until 2027.

New Villains and Family Drama

Season 3 isn’t just bringing back the hits; it’s digging deeper into the Addams’ graveyard of secrets. Picking up from the chilling Season 2 finale, Wednesday is facing a new threat written in blood. The iconic Eva Green is set to play Wednesday’s “deranged” aunt, Ophelia Frump. After a vision revealed Ophelia being held captive and calling for Wednesday’s demise, she’s locked in as the show’s next big antagonist. Co-creator Alfred Gough teased that we’ll meet more family members and uncover long-buried secrets this time around.

Returning Cast

Jenna Ortega returns as Wednesday Addams (now also a Co-Executive Producer) alongside Eva Green. The rest of the Addams family also returns, including Catherine Zets-Jones, Luis Guzmán, Issac Ordonez, Fred Armisen, Joanna Lumley, and Victor Dorobantu.

Production has returned to Dublin, Ireland. Creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar are back to helm the series based on Charles Addams’ classic characters. Watch season two now on Netflix to get ready for the next chapter.
