While the world is buzzing about del Toro’s award-winning Frankenstein, Maggie Gyllenhaal’s soon-to-be-released The Bride!, and the upcoming “Very Young Frankenstein” series, it was just a matter of time before the masters of the “mockbuster” at The Asylum jumped on the wagon. Their latest feature, Frankenstein’s Bride, has just dropped on digital, and it’s taking a much bloodier path than its predecessors.

Wedding Crasher Chaos

Forget the poetic tragedy of the original Mary Shelley novel. This version is a full-throttle revenge flick. The story kicks off on what was supposed to be the happiest day of the Monster’s life: his wedding day. Unfortunately, the local villagers aren’t exactly on the guest list. however, a riot breaks out, the Monster is killed, and his bride is forced to flee. But she isn’t just running away—she’s getting even and vowing vengeance on every single townsfolk responsible, leaving a massive trail of blood in her wake.

The Creative Team

The film is helmed by director Erika Duke, with a script penned by M.L. Miller and Ryan Ebert. The cast bringing this gothic gore-fest to life includes Emma De Maria, Tayla Cecere, and Nick Launchbury.

Why It’s Worth a Look

If you’re a fan of The Asylum’s signature style—high-concept, fast-paced, and unapologetically wild—this is their answer to the current “Franken-mania” taking over Hollywood. It’s a scrappy, vengeful take on a classic that doesn’t mind getting its hands (and everything else) dirty.
