The ultimate genre spoof franchise is officially back!  Marlon Wayans has decided it was time to resurrect the ultimate parody powerhouse: Scary Movie 6.

After a year of radio silence, the first trailer finally dropped. It originally debuted in theaters attached to Scream 7, but it’s finally hit the internet, and it is every bit as chaotic as you’d hope.

The Icons Return

The best news for longtime fans? The “A-Team” is back. Anna Faris returns as the perpetually confused Cindy Campbell, and yes, Regina Hall’s Brenda is officially back to steal every single scene.

The trailer makes it clear that the Wayans brothers aren’t just spoofing the classics; they are taking a chainsaw to the “elevated horror” of the last decade. From the looks of it, no modern trope is safe.

The Spoof Lineup: Who’s Getting Roasted?

The trailer moves at a breakneck pace, packing in references to basically every major horror hit of the 2020s. Here are just a few of the movies under attack.

Longlegs: Franchise veteran Chris Elliott appears as a hilariously grotesque version of Nicolas Cage’s serial killer, sporting the gnarliest knuckles you’ve ever seen.

M3GAN & Scream: The trailer kicks off on a subway full of masked riders. A dancing M3GAN doll rips off her face to reveal Ghostface.

The Substance: There’s a gross-out nod to Demi Moore’s body-horror hit that also seems to pay homage to the 80s cult classic The Stuff.

Smile: Watch out for a particularly “messy” bit involving a bedpan.

Terrifier: There’s a suspiciously accurate Art the Clown parody. We’re still crossing our fingers that David Howard Thornton actually made a cameo for the bit.

Pushing the Envelope

True to the Wayans’ style, the movie is leaning hard into “cancel culture” commentary and raunchy humor. And it refuses to be “woke.” The trailer is packed with over-the-top gags, including a Sinners-style trio offering to do “half-gay shit,”  and a scene where Cindy uses dual floppy dildos to take down Ghostface. It’s loud, it’s offensive, politically incorrect, and it’s exactly what made the original film a 2000s staple.

The script comes from the team of Rick Alvarez, Keenen Ivory Wayans, Shawn Wayans, and Marlon Wayans. The massive cast includes Marlon Wayans, Damon Wayans Jr., Shawn Wayans, Lochlyn Munro, Heidi Gardner, and Dave Sheridan.

Scary Movie 6 looks like it’s going for broke, blending modern horror with the franchise’s signature brand of “I can’t believe they just did that” comedy. And we are totally here for it! Scary Movie 6 hits theaters nationwide on June 12, 2026.
