If your twenties don’t feel like a combo of a dumpster fire and a rush, are you even doing them right? The Eisner-nominated team of Dave Baker and Nicole Goux (Fuck Off Squad) is getting the band back together for PUNK’N HEADS. It’s a new, raw, and delightfully messy graphic novel hitting shelves this April.
Art School Dropouts & Pumpkin Masks
Meet Hannah Lipsky. Her dreams of becoming a painter just went up in smoke. She’s officially an art school dropout, and she’s currently crashing in a flophouse. Naturally, the next logical step is to become the lead singer of a campy horror-punk band.
The band lives together, tours together, and all wear ridiculous pumpkin masks. To complicate the situation, Hannah is “maybe-sort-of” sleeping with her bandmate/housemate/high school crush, Jerry. PUNK’N HEADS is a love letter to making terrible decisions in the back of a van while wearing Doc Martens.
Straight from the Pit
“If you’ve ever broken up with someone in the back of a van right before six idiots pile in, this is the book for you,” says writer Dave Baker.
Artist Nicole Goux adds that it’s for anyone whose journey hasn’t been a straight path: “Join the quest to make something cool… or maybe just be a little less sad.”
