Forget everything you think you know—mostly because the government probably made you forget it anyway. If you like your sci-fi with a side of “Big Brother is definitely watching,” this movie is for you. The psychological thriller Recollection hits On Demand this week, proving that in the future, the most dangerous thing you can own is a memory.
A Glitch in the Matrix (Literally)
Welcome to 2033. Society is “thriving” thanks to Vitality, a corporation that keeps everyone happy by performing mandatory memory cleansings. It’s like clearing your browser cache, but for your soul.
Enter Kate Parker (Rosslyn Luke), a loyal Vitality employee who discovers that the company’s “delete” button isn’t as permanent as it’s claimed to be. A system glitch floods her brain with a life she was never supposed to remember, turning her from a star employee into Public Enemy No. 1.
The Stakes are high. Kate is on the run, and Teddy (Falk Hentschel) is hell-bent on recovering Kate’s memories, which may solve his wife’s murder.
A Bittersweet Farewell
The film cast includes Cesar Garcia, Eric Roberts, and Gary Graham (Star Trek: Enterprise, Robot Jox). Notably, this marks the final performance for genre legend Gary Graham, giving fans one last chance to see the icon in action.
Keeping it in the Family
While the story feels like a global conspiracy, the production is surprisingly intimate. Recollection is the brainchild of the Butera family, a powerhouse indie team based in Idaho, with Caden Butera serving as Director, Writer, and Editor. Rylan Butera co-wrote the script and composed. Jackie & Mark Butera, the parents, make sure the sci-fi dreams (and the checks) stay on track as Producers.
Recollection lands On Demand on March 19th, 2026.
