The Wayans Family is officially back to “cancel the cancel culture,” and they’ve brought the receipts. A brand-new poster for the upcoming Scary Movie (colloquially known as Scary Movie 6) has arrived today, and it’s a blood-soaked love letter to the last five years of horror trauma.

The Poster: A Wall of “Legit” Knockoffs

If you’ve ever browsed the “Discount Slasher” aisle at a Spirit Halloween on November 1, this poster will feel like home. It features a wall of horror movie masks with suspiciously familiar names and price tags:

-“Scarifier” (a very clear nod to Damien Leone’s Terrifier).

-“Short Legs” (Osgood Perkins’ Longlegs).

-“Tuesday” (taking a swing at Netflix’s Wednesday)

-“Mean Girl” (the TikTok-dancing sensation M3GAN).

The poster also confirms the movie will target the “elevated horror” movement, Jordan Peele’s Get Out and Nope, Ryan Coogler’s Sinners, and even the “requel” obsession of the Scream and Halloween franchises.

A Killer Cast

After a 25-year hiatus (the brothers haven’t been in charge since Scary Movie 2 in 2001), the original dream team is back. And Paramount and Miramax have pulled out all the stops for this “rebooquel”.

The Cast includes Marlon Wayans as the ever-hazy Shorty. Shawn Wayans as Ray. Anna Faris is back as the perpetually confused Cindy Campbell. And Regina Hall returns as the indestructible Brenda Meeks.

The massive ensemble cast also includes returning favorites Dave Sheridan (Doofy), Lochlyn Munro, Cheri Oteri, and Chris Elliott, as well as fresh meat like Damon Wayans Jr., Heidi Gardner, and Sydney Park.

Behind the Chaos

The film is directed by Michael Tiddes (A Haunted House), working from a script that reads like a Wayans family reunion. Writers include Marlon, Shawn, and Keenen Ivory Wayans, along with Craig Wayans and Rick Alvarez.

Get ready to laugh. Originally slated for a mid-June slot, the film was recently bumped up a week due to the massive response to the teaser trailer. Head to theaters on June 5, 2026
