The Invisibility Cloak is officially off, and the fishnets are on. Vogue has released the first-look images of Luke Evans as Dr. Frank-N-Furter and the cast for the upcoming Broadway revival of The Rocky Horror Show, and it’s safe to say the “macho” era of Gaston and Dracula is taking a backseat to something much more… sexy.

The New Master of the Mansion

Directed by Tony winner Sam Pinkleton (Oh, Mary!), this revival at Studio 54 promises a “musicult” experience that leans into the raw, rebellious spirit of the 1973 original. Evans, making his long-awaited Broadway debut, describes his Frank-N-Furter as a mix of “slinky, sultry, and menace.”

“I want him to feel attractive in many, many different ways so that men and women can look at him and go, ‘Hmmm.'” — Luke Evans to Vogue

The Cast

This isn’t just a revival; it’s a star-studded musical from Transylvania. The production features an incredible ensemble of Broadway veterans and high-profile debuts.

Character 2026 Broadway Cast Claim to Fame
Dr. Frank-N-Furter Luke Evans Beauty and the Beast, The Hobbit
Janet Weiss Stephanie Hsu Everything Everywhere All at Once
Brad Majors Andrew Durand Shucked, Dead Outlaw
Magenta Juliette Lewis Yellowjackets, Cape Fear
Riff Raff Amber Gray Hadestown
Columbia Michaela Jaé Rodriguez Pose, Loot
Eddie / Dr. Scott Harvey Guillén What We Do in the Shadows
Rocky Josh Rivera The Hunger Games: Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes
The Narrator Rachel Dratch Saturday Night Live

While Tim Curry will always be Dr. Frank-N-Furter in our hearts, it’s fantastic that a new generation can find joy in Evans ‘ pelvic thrusts. And judging by the images, he looks like a fantastic choice to fill Tim Curry’s high heels.

An Expensive Production

One big difference between the 1975 classic and the new show is the budget. The original was made for under $2 million, which wouldn’t even cover the wardrobe of the new show. Its characters wear Versace, Dior, and Dolce & Gabbana. The cost of just raising the curtain is an estimated $10 million.
