Lock your doors and stay off the water. Apple TV+ has finally unveiled the teaser trailer for its highly anticipated psychological horror-thriller series, Cape Fear.

Spearheaded by showrunner Nick Antosca (The Act, Brand New Cherry Flavor), this 10-episode limited series carries some serious cinematic royalty in its DNA. Hollywood titans and Academy Award winners Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg are on board as executive producers. Academy Award nominee Morten Tyldum (The Imitation Game) is directing the pilot, ensuring that this game of cat-and-mouse will look absolutely stunning as it unfolds.

The talent doesn’t stop there. The impressive cast includes Academy Award nominee Amy Adams and Golden Globe nominee Patrick Wilson. Academy Award winner Javier Bardem is stepping into the legendary, menacing shoes of Max Cady. Rounding out the cast are Joe Anders, Lily Collias, Malia Pyles, and the incredible CCH Pounder.

Vengeance is a Dish Best Served Cold

Inspired by both the 1962 Gregory Peck classic and Scorsese’s own acclaimed 1991 remake, this modern adaptation puts a fresh, terrifying spin on the classic tale of obsession.

Happily married attorneys Anna (Amy Adams) and Tom Bowden (Patrick Wilson) seem to have it all. There is just one problem: Max Cady (Javier Bardem), the notorious killer they successfully put behind bars, has just been released from prison. And he has spent every waking moment behind bars planning his revenge.

A Summer Premiere

While the teaser gives viewers a taste of what’s to come, we’ll have to wait until summer to watch the series, which debuts globally on Friday, June 5, 2026, with a two-episode premiere, followed by weekly installments every Friday through July 31. However, with this much talent involved, it’s going ot be worth the wait. In the meantime, you can watch the original on Prime Video. The 1991 film is now available on Apple TV and Prime Video, and is free on YouTube.
