As if the return of TV’s favorite blood-spatter analyst wasn’t exciting enough, Dexter Morgan is about to face off against a true titan of the acting world. Golden Globe and Emmy winner Brian Cox is officially joining the cast of “Dexter: Resurrection“ for its second season on Paramount+. Cox will step into the dark shoes of Dom Framt, notoriously known as The New York Ripper.
Who is The New York Ripper?
If the name sounds familiar, that’s because Season one laid the groundwork for this monster. Dexter (Michael C. Hall) and Detective Claudette Wallace (Kadia Saraf) discovered a file on Framt in the vault of Leon Prater (played by none other than Peter Dinklage).

The Ripper is a legendary serial killer who terrorized New York City decades ago. Though he is no longer actively painting the town red, he is definitely not retired. He has found a sick new way to feed his infamy. How? By continuing to ruthlessly taunt and psychologically torture the survivors of his long-ago murder spree.

Season One Recap
If you need a refresher, “Dexter: Resurrection” Season one picked up where New Blood left off, revealing that Dexter Morgan somehow survived his seemingly fatal gunshot wound. No longer able to hide in the frozen wilderness, he finds himself back in the crosshairs of both the law and other monsters.
The season centers on an investigation led by Detective Claudette Wallace, who begins closing in on Dexter’s past. Meanwhile, Dexter crosses paths with Leon Prater (Dinklage), a brilliant and dangerous figure with a massive vault of dark secrets. In the season’s climax, Dexter and Wallace uncover Prater’s vault, discovering a hidden file on Dom Framt—the notorious “New York Ripper”—setting the stage for a massive collision of killers in Season 2.
